Joasia Krysa
Joasia Krysa is an independent curator, Associate Professor at the University of Plymouth, UK, and curatorial agent for dOCUMENTA (13). She holds a MA in Fine Art Administration and Curating (Goldsmiths College, UK, 1998), MA in Cultural Studies (University of Wroclaw, Poland, 1997) and MSc in Political Sciences (University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska, Lublin, Poland, 1997). She holds PhD in Software Curating from the Planetary Collegium programme at the University Plymouth.
She is a member of Editorial Board of the
DATA browser series (Autonomedia, New York); Member of the Council of Management for the
WRO Center for Media Art Foundation (Wroclaw, Poland); recent Jury Member for the
ARCO / Beep New Media Art Awards 2007, (Madrid, Spain) and
Share Award 2007, Piemonte Share Festival (Torino, Italy); and founding member and co-organiser of the
Curatorial Network (with Arts Council England, South West, UK).
In 2004, she established
KURATOR, a curatorial practice-based research project to investigate the cultural context of network technologies and immaterial production. KURATOR promotes work through programme of public events, commissions, residencies, conferences, seminars, talks and publications. Recent projects include the edited book

kurator (in progress) and the conference
Curating, Immateriality, Systems (Tate Modern, London, 2005).
